वसंतराव श्रीनिवास डेंपो गोवाचो ख्यात कैगारिकोद्यमी आनी लोककल्याण्कारी व्यक्ती म्हणून नांव पावला. तो 4 फ़ेब्रुवरी 1916 इसवींत गोवांत जल्मलो. ताणे डेम्पो ग्रूप ऑफ़ इंदस्ट्रीस स्थापन केलां. 1941 इसवींत ताणे गणी उद्यम आरंभ केलो. आयज तागेले उद्यम जहाज बांदूचें, खनीज, आहार, लोखंड, स्टील, शिक्षण, प्रवास, आनी बांदपाक थांय विस्तारान वाडला.
वसंतराव डेंपोन गोवाचे जनप्रिय फ़ू्टबॅल क्लब, “डेंपो स्पोर्ट्स क्लब” स्थापन केलां. बिचोलीचें स्पोर्ट्स क्लब घेवनु फ़ूटबॅल खेळच्याक निर्वहण केलां. “डेंपो चेरिटीस ट्रस्ट” एक लोक परोपकारी संस्थो आसून खूब शिक्षण संस्थेंचो पोशण करता.
मान सम्मान
भारत सरकारान 1991 इसवींत वसंतराव डेंपोक पद्मश्री प्रशस्ती दीवन गौरव केला. केंद्र सरकारान तागेले स्मरणार्थ पोस्टल स्टेंप काडून ताका गौरव दिला.
vasanth Rao Srinivas Dempo was an Industrialist and philanthropist from Goa. He was Born on 4th February 1916 in Goa. He founded the Dempo Group of Industries. The mining business he founded in 1941 has now grown to include interests in shipbuilding, minerals, food, iron, steel, education, travel and construction.
He was the founder of Dempo Sports Club, a popular football club based in Goa, which he nurtured after acquiring the local club, Bicholim Sports club. “Dempo Charities Trust”, the philanthropic arm of the group runs sevral educational institutions in Goa.
Honours
Government of India awarded him the highest civilian honour of the “Padma Shri” in 1991. On 4th March 2016, a commemorative postage stamp was released in his honour.
