उळ्ळाल श्रिनिवास मल्या भारत स्वातंत्र झुजारी आनी राजकारणी जावनशीलो. तो आधुनीक दक्षीण कन्नड जिलाचे शिल्पी म्हणून फ़ामाद जाला. तो 18 वरस लोकसभा सदस्य जावन आशिलो आनी दक्षीण कन्नड जिलाचो अभिवृद्धीक कारण जालो. उळ्ळाल मंजुनाथ मल्याले पूत श्रीनिवास मल्या 21-11-1902 इसवेंत दक्षीण कन्नड जिल्लाचे उळ्ळाल गांवांत जल्मलो. तागेले शिक्षण मंगळूरचे सांत लुयीस प्राथमीक शाळा, केनरा प्रौढ शाळा, आनी सर्कारी कोलेजांत जालें.
राजकीय वृत्ती जीवन
श्रीनिवास मल्या 18 वर्स प्रायेर महात्मा गांधीले उल्याक मान दीवन भारत स्वातंत्र झूजांत जोडलो. ताणे आपले कुटुंबाचे व्यवहार सोडून दिलें आनी सत्याग्रहांत वांटो घेतलो. त्यानिमीत ताका साभार वेळा जैल शिक्षा लाभली. कोंग्रेसाचे जिला समितीचे कार्यदर्शी जावचे मूलक तागेले राजकीय जीवन आरंभ जालें. 1937-50 तांय तो अध्यक्ष, 1951 इसवींत अखील भारत कोंग्रेस कमिटीचो जनरल सेक्रेटरी जालो. 1952 थावन 1963 थांय तो दक्षीण कन्नड जिल्लाचो प्रतिनिधी म्हणून लोकसभा सदस्य जावन चुनायीत जालो. प्रामाणीक आनी क्रियाशील श्रीनिवास मंगळूर विमान निल्दाण, नव मंगळुरु बंदर, मंगळूर-हासन-बेंगळूरु रेल्वे लाइन, उळ्ळाल सांकोव, मंगळुर टौनहाल, सर्क्यूट हौस, आकाशवाणी, कर्नाटक रीजिनल कोलेज सुरतकल, राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 66 इत्यादी संस्थो मंगळुरांत स्थापन जावचाक कारण जालो.
मान सम्मान
श्रीनिवास मल्याले गौरवार्थ मंगळूरांत कद्री, टौनहाल, नव मंगळुर बंदर आनी एन.आइ.टि.के. मुखार तागेले मूर्थी स्थापन केला. सुरत्कलांत श्रीनिवास नगर निर्माण केलां. पडीलांत श्रीनिवास मल्या वृत्त रचन केलां. तागेले 115वे जल्मदिवस स्मरणार्थ भारतीय टपाल थावन टपाल कवर मेकळें केलां.
Ullal Srinivas Mallya was an Indian Freedom fighter and politician. He served about 18 years as a member of Parliament from 1946-65. He played a key role in development of undevided Dakshina Kannada. He was born on 21-11-1902 in Ullala, Dakshina Kannada Distict to Ullala Manjunath mallya. He completed his education at St. Aloysius Primary School, Canara High School and Government College, Mangalore.
Political Career
Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s call, Mallya joined the freedom movement at the age of 18. He resigned from his family business in Mangalore and began a life as a Satyagrahi, due to which he went to prison several times. Mallya started his political career as Secretary of District Congress Committee. He was President from 1937-50. He became a member of the All India Congress committee. Due to his close relation with Jawaharlal Neharu, he was chosen as the General Secretary of AICC in 1951. He was elected as a member of Parliament from South Kanara constituency (1952-65). Mallya has been called as “Father of Modern Dakshina Kannada District”. He was instrumental in establishing Mangalore Airport, New Mangalore port, National Highway 66, Karnataka Regional Engineering College (now NITK), Mangalore-Hassan-Bangalore Railway Line, Ullal Bridge on the Netravati River, Circuit house, Mangalore Town Hall, Chamber of commerce, All India Radio Station in Mangalore.
Honours
Statues of Mallya are found throughout Mangalore – at Kadri, infront of Town Hall, New Mangalore Port Trust, NITK, Suratkal, at Padeel Junction. Srinivas Nagar in Suratkal is named after him in his memory. India Post released Postal Cover in his memory in 2018 on the occasion of his 115th birthday.
