पुंडलीक नारायन नाइक गोवाचो ख्यात कोंकणी कवी, लेखक, नाटककार, मोटवी काणी बरव्पी, कादंबरिकार आनी सिनिमा काणियेगार जावनस. तो 21-04-1952 इसवेंत गोवाच्या पोंडा तालूका वोल्वोय गांवांत जल्मलो. ताणे साभार 40 पुस्तक आनी 2 सिनेमा केल्यात. तो गोवा कोंकणी अकाडेमीचो अध्यक्ष जावनशिलो.

वृत्ती जीवन
पुंडलीक नाइकान शाळेंत शिक्षक जावन वृत्ती जीवन आरंभ केलें (1972-78). उप्रांत ताणे आकाशवाणी पण्जींत उपसंपादक, सहसंपादक जावन काम केलें. 1984 इसवींत तो आकाशवाणी सोडून पूर्णकालीन लेखक जा्लो. ताणे 32 नाटकं बरयल्यात. कोंकणी भाशेचो आंदोलनांत ताने प्रमुख पात्र घेतलां. कोंकणी पर्जेचो आवाज़ाचो समन्वयकार जावनशीलो.
पुंडलीक नाइकाले कादंबरी “अच्छेव” (The Upheaval, 1977) इंग्लीश भाशेक भाशांतर जालालें पयले कोंकणी कादंबरी . ह्या कादंबरींत गणीगारिके निमीत शेतकारांले वयर जालालो परिणाम चित्रण केलां. तागेले प्रमुख क्रुती “रानसुंदरी (1974), छप्पन तिगलि यशवंतराव (1980), सुरिंग (1982), डिमांड (1986), दाय्ज़, शाबाय शाबाय बहुजन समाज, जागोर, श्री विचित्रांची जात्रा, कानसुलो, चैत्यांक मत ना”. तागेले “चौरंग ” कृतीक साहित्य अकाडेमी पुरस्कार लाभलां (1984)

मान सम्मान
पुंदलीक नाइकाक साभार प्रशस्ती मेळ्यात. त्या पयकी “साहित्य अकाडेमी पुरस्कार (1984), गोमांत शरदा जीवमान प्रशस्ती पुरस्कार (2010), ऑल इंडिया रेडियो नाटककार प्रशस्ती, पटेर’स ऑस्ट्रेलियन अकदेमी ऑफ़ ब्रोडकास्टिंग ऍंड सायन्स प्रशस्ती (1988), भुरग्यांलें नाटका खातीर गोवा सरकाराचे प्रशस्ती (1975), भाशा मंडल बोमान (2013), संगीत नाटक अकाडेमी पुरस्कार प्रमुख जावन आसात. शुभम नाइक ट्रस्ट आनी कला आनी संस्कृती निर्देशनालया तरपेन पुंडलीक नाइकालें नाटकांचे 5 दिसाचो नाटकोत्सव मांडोवन हाडला.

Pundalik N. Naik

Pundalik Narayan Naik is a Konkani – language poet, short-story writer, novelist, playwright and screen writer from Goa. He was born on 21-04-1952 in volVoi village of Ponda Taluk, Goa. His works include 40 books and 2 films. He served as the President of Goa Konkani Academy.

Career
Pundalik Naik has started his career as a school teacher (1972-78). He joined “All India Radio, Panjim as a sub-editor and later worked there as an assistant editor. In 1984, he left All India Radio to become a full-time writer, and has 32 plays to his credit. He played a prominent role in the Konkani language agitation in Goa. He was the convenor of the Konkani ‘Porjecho Avaz’ (voice of the Konkani people) a campaign group promoting the cause of the Konkani language at the time. Naik has also written plays for radio and has edited films. His novel “Acchev” ( The Upheaval, 1977), the first Konkani novel to be translated into English. Acchev has been described as anovel which ‘describes peasant life and shows what happens when a traditional society that lives by myths and rituals comes into contact with modern mechanised ways of life’. Naik has written 32 plays and collections of short stories, novels, translatios and books of children’s rhyme to his credit. His notable works includes – “Ransundari (1974), Chhappan Thigali Yashwantrao (1980), Suring (1982), Demand (1986), Dayz, Shabai Shabai Bahujan Samaj, Jagor, Shree Vichitranchi Jaatra, Kaansulo, Chaityanak Math Naa. He has edited an anthology, ‘Chowrang’, for which he got the Sahitya Academy Award in 1984.

Awards
Pundalik Naik was awarded the Sahitya Academi Award for his work Chowrang (9184), He was awarded the Gomant Sharda Puraskar for Lifetime Achievement (2010), All India Radio’s Playwright Award (1986,87), the paters Award of the Australian Academy of Broadcasting and Science (1988), The Government of Goa award for children’s drama (1975), Konkani Bhasha Mandal Prize (2013) and the Sangeet Natak Academy Award came on account of his contribution to Indian theatre as a playwright. Shubham Naik Trust and the Directorate of Art and Culture had organised a five days festival of selected Konkani plays of Pundalik Naik.
