वृत्ती जीवन
मुंबय आइ.आइ.टी दाकून इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजिनियरींग पदवी जोडले उप्रांत मुंबयचे पट्नी कंप्यूटर सिस्टमांत नौकरी केलें. 1981 इसवींत एन.आर. नारायणमूर्ती आनी हेर 5 लोकां सांगत मेळनु इन्फ़ोसीस कंपनी आरंभ केलें. थंय तो निर्देशक आनी सि. इ. ओ. जावन हुदो सांबाळलो. 2009 इसवींत तो इन्फ़ोसीस सोडुन तेदना भारताचे प्रधान मंत्री श्री मनमोहन सिंगाले आपोवणेक मान दीवनु Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) संस्थेचो अध्यक्ष जाता. ह्या संस्थे मुखांतर भारतीय नागरिकांक विशिष्ट परिचय चीट “आधार” तयार करतात. ह्या परिचय चीटांत प्रत्येक व्यक्तीलें नांव पत्तो, छायचित्र, अंगुटे छाप, फोन, तांका दिलेले संखो नमूद जावन आसता. तो Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations(ICRIER) संस्थेचो आडळीत मंडळीचे सांदो जावन आस. तशेंच NCAER संस्थेचो अध्यक्ष जावनस. World Economic Forum Foundation आनी Bombay Heritage Fund संस्थेचो सल्ला मंडळीचे सांदो जावनस. 2017 इसवींत नीलकेणी दंपतीन तांगेले संपत्तीचो 50% “गिविंग प्लेड्ज” संस्थेक दान दिलां.
मान सम्मान
2006 इसवींत भारत सरकारान नंदन नीलकेणीक पद्मभूशण प्रशस्ती दीवनु गौरव केला. 2011 इसवींत टोरांटो विश्वविद्यानिलया दाकून गौरव डाक्टरेट मेळां. तशेंच एन.डि.टि.वि, सि.एन.बि.सि, टैम मेगज़ीन दाकून साभार प्रशस्ती लाभलेत.
Nandan Nilekani is an Indian enterpreneur born on 02-06-1955 to Mohan R.Nilekani and Durga in Bangalore. Nilekani co-founded Infosys and is the non-executive chairman of that firm. He was the chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). He also headed the Government of India’s Technology Committee (TAGUP).
Career
After completing bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, he joined Patni Computer Systems, Mumbai. In 1981 Nilekani, N.R. Narayana Murthy and five others left Patni to start their own company Infosys. Nilekani became CEO of the company. In 2009 Nilekani left Infosys to serve as the chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India, under the invitation of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He is responsible for implimenting the envisioned Multipurpose National Identity Card or Unique Identity Card project in India. They developed “Aadhaar”, which is an Indian biometric ID system, a database, which contains demographic information, home addresses of Indians. He is a member of the board of governors of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations(ICRIER) and the president of NCAER. He also sits on several advisory boards, including the “World Economic Forum Foundation” and the “Bombay Heritage Fund”. In 2017 Nilekani and his wife decided to donate 50% of their wealth to a NGO “Giving Pledge”.
Awards
Nilekani was awarded one of the highest civilian honours, the “Padmabhushan”, in 2006. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate at the University of Toranto. He was honured with many awards including Businessman of the year by Forbes Asia, Asia Business Leaders Award by CNBC.
