सारस्वतां बद्दल प्रमाणबद्ध आदर्श संशोधन करून कोंकणी मराठीची उपभास न्हय ताचे प्रास प्राचीन भास म्हणून वाद केललो धीमंत संशॊधक मंजेश्वर गोविंद पै. कन्नड साहित्याचे नवयुग प्रवर्तक राष्ट्रकवी बिरुद घेतिले मंजेश्वर गोविंद पै मंगळूरचे साहुकार बाबा पै कुटुंबांत 23-03-1883 इसवेंत जल्मलो. बापाय साहुकार तिम्म पै आनी आवय देवकी.
आपले 15 वरस प्रायेर कन्नडाचे अनेक महाकाव्य, छंदस शिकून अखंड जावनु 62 वरस पर्यंत कन्नड भास, साहित्य आनी संशोधना निरत आशिलो शतकाचो सर्वप्रथम कन्नड साहिती म्हळेले ख्याती पावला. ग्रीक भास आनी कन्नड भाशेचो संबंध हुज्वाडाक हाडिले संशोधक तो जावनस. हांका संस्कृत, पाली, उर्दु, बंगाळी, गुजराथी, कन्नड, मलयाळम, तमीळ, ग्रीक, ल्याटिन, इटालियन, फ़्रेंच, जपान अशें साभार 22 भास कळितशिलें. ताका जपान भासेचें “नो” सांप्रदायीक नाटक कन्नडाक हाडिलो नाटककार म्हळेले ख्याती फावो जाता. तागेलें शिक्षण मद्रासांत जालें. ताणे इंग्लीष बि.ए. पयलें वरसाक भांगरा पदक घेतलां.
साहित्य कृती
“नंदादीप” 36 कवनांचे संकलन, गिळिविंडु, गोल्गोथा, वैशाखि, तायि, हेब्बेरळु, चित्रभानु, “नो”- जपानी लोकवेद शैली नाटक, कर्नाटक इतिहास, भारत इतिहास, तुळु नाडु विमर्शात्मक कृती रचयल्यात. गद्य प्रकारांत 185 कृतियो, 150 कविता आनी 12 नाटक रचयलां.
मान-सम्मन
गोविंद पै राष्ट्रकवी बिरुदु प्राप्त जालालो पयलो कोंकणी कवी. ताका सारस्वत तपस्वी म्हळले बिरुदु लाभलां. तागेले नांवाचे संशोधना केंद्र उडुपींत आसा. तशॆंच एक कोलेज मंजेश्वरांत आस.
Rashtrakavi Manjeshwara Govind Pai was born in famous Manglorean Sahukara Baba Pai family on 23rd March 1883. Sahukar Timmapai and Devaki were his parents. He has researched thoroughly about Saraswat and proved Konkani is an Independent Language and not a dialect of Marathi.
He learnt all the Kannada epics and prosudy at the age of 15. He also did research ito study the relation between Kannada and Greek language. He had command over 22 languages including Sanskrit, Pali, Hindi, Bangali, Gujarathi, kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Greek, Latin, Italian, French, Japan. He also translated Japanese folk drama “No” into Kannada. He secured gold medal in B.A. first year from Madras University.
Literary work
His famous works are Gilivindu, Golgotha, vaishakhi, Tayi, Hebberalu, chitrbhanu, No (Japanese folk drama), History Of Karnataka, History Of India, Research paper on Tulunadu. Nandadeep book contains 36 poetries. He has written 185 prose and 150 poetries and 12 dramas in Kannada. Also did translation work in Kannada and other languages.
Awards and Honours
Govind Pai was honoured with Rashtrakavi and Saraswata Tapasvi Title. He was the first Konkani person honoured with this title. A resesrch centre is established in the name of Manjeswra Govind Pai in Udupi and also a college in Manjeshwar.
