ख्यात इतिहसकार शिक्षक मंजेश्वर गणपती राव ऐगल 1881 इसवेंत जलमलो. तो बंटवाळांत शिक्षक जावन आशीलो ताणे बरयिलें “दक्षिण कन्नडद प्राचीन इतिहास पुस्तक” 1923 इसवेंत प्रकट जालें.
साहित्य
गणपती रावान मंगळूर, कोल्लूर, पोळलि, कुंबळे, सुब्रमण्य, धर्मस्थळ, उद्यावर आनी मंजेश्वराचें पुराण बदल बरयिलें कन्नड पुस्तक “स्थळ पुराणगळु” सांखळ प्रकट केलां. तशेंच श्री काशी मठद चरित्रे पुस्तक बरयलां. तुळु लोकवेद गीतांक पाड्दन म्हणतात. असले पाड्दन बरपा रूपार दस्तावेज तयार केलां. अत्तावर दैवोंगुळु (1928). तोडकिनार, मंडत्ताये, बोब्बर्या, कल्लुर्टी, कल्कुडा दैवांचे पद्य “तुळु पाड्दनोलु” नांवर प्रकट केलां(1933). बोब्बर्या आनी मुंडत्ताये ताणे बरयिलें इतर पुस्तकं.
Manjeshwar Ganapathi Rao Aigal, born in 1881, was a historian and served as a teacher in Bantwal, Dakshina kannada District. He was the author of Dakshina Kannada Jilleya Prachina Ithihasa (Ancient History Of Dakshina Kannada) published in 1923.
Works
Ganapathi Rao Aigal has written books on “Sthala Puranagalu” series like Mangalore, Kollur, Polali, Kumbale, Subramanya, Dharmasthala, Udyavara and Manjeshwara. Other work is Kashi Mathada charitre. He has done the documentation of Paad-danaas. Paad-danaas are songs or ballads rendered in Tulu language, describing the origin and the deeds of the legends in the rituals of Bhuta Kola. Attavara Daivongulu (1928), TuluPaddanolu of Todakinar, Mandattaye, bobbarya, Kallurti and Kalkuda 1933, Bobbarya, Munadathaye are his documentation works.
