चंद्रकांत केणी गोंय राज्याचो कोंकणी भाशेचो बरोवपी, भाषणकार, कोंकणी झुजारी आनी पत्रकर्त जावनशीलो. तो मराठी दिसाळें “राष्ट्रमत” आनी कोंकणी दिसाळें “सुनापरांत” पत्रिकेचो संपादक आशीलो. तागेले “व्हंकल पावणी” पुस्तकाक साहित्य अकाडेमी प्रशस्ती लाभलां.
साहित्यीक वावर
चंद्रकांत केणी कट्टर गांधीवादी आशिलो. केणीन तागेले 14 वरस प्रायेर कोल्वांत गांधीले अस्तीचें भस्म विसर्जन वेळार सार्वजनीक भाषण पयलें पावटी दिलें. केणी तागेले काळाचो बोरो भाषणकार आशीलो. देशभक्ती आनी गांधीतत्वाचे पालन करून ताणे काकासाहेब काळेकर सांगत काम केलें. त्या निमीत केणीक स्वातंत्र झूजाचे प्रमुख मुखेली जवाहरलाल नेहरू, राम मनोहर लोहिया असले वरिष्ट नेतांले सांगत्य लाभलें. यें मुखार ताका गोवा मुक्ती आंदोलनांत भाग जावचाक आनी गोवा – महाराश्ट्र एकीकरण विरुद्ध लोकमत आंदोलनाक प्रेरणा दिलें. राष्ट्रमत मराठी दिसाळेचो संपादक जावन उप्रांत सुनापरांत कोंकणी दिसाळेचो पयलो संपादक जावन ताणे लोकां मध्ये जनजागृती हाडचें प्रयत्नांत संपूर्णा जावन तागेलो वेळ अर्पण केला.
केणीन आपले 15 वरस वयार लेखन बरोवचाक आरंभ केलें. उप्रांत नामणेचो बरोवपी रवींद्र केळेकरालें मार्गदर्शनार बरयतालो. कालांतरांत तागेलें बरपांत सामाजीक, राजकीय चित्रण दिसचाक लागलें. तागेलें लेखन आनी मोटवी काणियो सोंपी भाशेन आनी चिंतनशील आसून लोकांक आकर्शीत जावचांत सफ़ल जालां. ताणे कोंकणी, मराठी, हिंदी आनी इंग्लीश भाशेंत साभार 60 पुस्तक प्रकट केलां. तागेलें ल्हान काणियो बरोवचें शैली विशिष्ट आशीलें. तागेलें साभार कोंकणी काणियो गोंय राज्याचे कोंकणी पठ्यपुस्तकांत दाखल जाल्यात. गोवा, कर्नाटक, महाराष्ट्र, केरळ, मध्यप्रदेषांत आनी इतर प्रदेशांत आसूचें सारस्वत समुदायाचें परिचय आनी उज्वाड घालचें पुस्तक “द सारस्वत” 2008 इसवींत प्रकट जालें. “आळ्मी, धर्तरी, अजून जियेताली, हिप्पी चली, एकलो एक्सुरो, व्हंकल पावनी, आषाढ पावली ताणे बरयिलें प्रमुख कोंकणी ल्हान काणियो.

केणीले “व्हंकल पावनी” कृतीक साहित्य अकाडेमी पुरस्कार लाभलां. (1988).
Chandrakant Keni was a Konkani writer, journalist, freedom fighter from Goa. He was the editor of Marathi daily “Rashtramath” and Konkani Daily “Sunaparant”. He was the Sahitya Academy Award winner for Konkani Literature.
Literary work
A very staunch Gandhian, Keni’s nationalist stirrings began at the tender age of 14 when he made his public speach at the immersion of Gandhi’s ashes at Colva, Goa. Later over the years he became one of the finest speaker of his time. It was the same fervour that set him working with Kakasaheb Kalekar. His meetings with stalwarts of the freedom movement like Jawaharlal Nehru and Ram Manohara Lohia inspired him to push for Goa’s liberation. Later, it helped him shape people’s opinion poll movement, initially as editor of the Marathi daily “Rasthramat” and then as the founder editor of the Konkani daily “Sunaparant”.
At the age of 15 Keni began writing at his native village in Goa, later under the tutelage of renowned writer Ravindra Kelekar. Slowly as life imitated art and the socio-political scenario played out, Keni’s writings and fictional short stories urged people to heed their social responsibilities. Acclaimed for his short story writing techniques, Keni got over 60 books published in Konkani as well as Hindi, English and Marathi languages in which he was equally proficient. Today several of these stories have been included in the Konkani syllabus in Goa’s schools. Another book “The Saraswat” (2008) an authology highlights the events, history and geographical locations of the Saraswat community in Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhyapradesh and ovrseas.
Honours
Keni’s famous novel “Vhokal Pavni” received the Sahitya Akademi Award in the year 1988.
