बेनगल राम राव भारताचे रिसर्व बॅंकाचे चवतो गवर्नर जावनशीलो (1949-57). राम राव 1 जुलाय 1889 इसवींत मंगळूरांत जल्मलो. बेनगल नरसिंग राव हागेले म्हालगडो भाव. ताणे मद्रास प्रेसिडेन्सी कोलेज आनी केंब्रीजाचे किंग्स कोलेजांत शिक्षण घेतलें.
वृत्ती जीवन
1919 इस्वींत भारताक येवनु इंडियन सिविल सर्वीसाक मेळ्ळो. 1930 इस्वींत ऑर्डर ऑफ़ द इंडीयन एम्पायरचे सहचर जावनु नेमणूक जालो. मद्रास सरकाराचे सहकार्यदर्शी जावनसल्लो. ताणे इंडियन टॅक्सेशन कमिटीचे आर्थीक विभागाचे कारयदर्शी जावनु काम केलां. तशेंच सैमन समितीचे आर्थीक सल्लागार जावनु आशीलो. भारत सरकाराचे कैगारिका विभागाचे सहकार्यदर्शी जावनु काम केलां. गोळ मेज परिशताचे कार्यदर्शी जावनसल्लो. . तो लंडनांत भारताचे डेप्युटी है कमिशनर जावनसल्लो. तशेंच दक्षीण आफ़्रिकांत भारताचो कमिशनर जावनसल्लो. दक्षीण आफ़्रिका थावन परत येतच बॉंबे पोर्ट ट्रस्टाचे चेर्मन जावनु नेमणूक जालो. जपानांत आसूचे भारतीय दूतावासाचे राजदूत जावनु उप्रांत युनाय्टेड स्टेट्साचो भारतीय दूतावासाचो राजदूत जावनु नेमणूक जालो. रिसर्व बॅंकाचे दीर्घावधीक गवर्नर जावन आसल्लें कीर्ती हाका मेळता.

Benagal Ram Rau

Benagal Ram Rao was the fourth Governor of the Reseve Bank of India (1949-57). Ram Rau was born on 1st July 1889 in Mangalore. Benagal Narasing Rao was his elder brother. He was educated at Presidency college, Madras and at King’s College, Cambridge.
Career
Joining the Indian Civil Service in 1919, he was appointed as companion of the Order of the Indian Empire. On joining the ICS and before joining the RBI he held the following posts – Under secretary and Deputy secretary to the Government of Madras (1919-24), Finance Deparatment as secretary to the Indian Taxation Committee (1925-26), Simons Commission as Financial Advisor (1926-28), Indusries Department Joint Secretary, Round Table Conference as Secretary, Indian Bill in the Joint Select committee of Parliament (1931-34), Deputy High commissioner for India in London (1934-38), High Commissioner for India in South Africa (1938-41).
When he returned to India, he was appointed as Chairman of the Bombay Port trust (1941-46). He also served as a diplomat as the Indian Ambassador to Japan (1947-48) and as the Ambassador to the United States (1948-49). He was the longest serving RBI Governor.
