वृत्ती जीवन
मुळाव्या शिक्षण उप्रांत स्वध्यायनान संस्कृत आनी इंगलीश भाशेंचेर प्रभुत्व जोडलें. महात्मा गांधीच्या उल्याक मान दीवन एक सत्याग्रही म्हणून स्वातंत्र्य चळवळींत वांटो घेतलो आनी बंदखाण्याची शिक्षा भोगली. काराग्रुहांत आसताना हिंदी उलोवपी लोकांच्या संपर्कांत येवन हिंदी भास शिकून घेतली आनी उप्रांत सरकारी परीक्षेंत उत्तीर्ण जावन बंटवाळच्या एस.वि.एस हायस्कूलांत हिंदी शिक्षकाची वृत्ती शुरु केली. त्याच वेळार शाळेचो ग्रंथपालक म्हणूनय काम केलें. पुस्तकालयाचो उपेग घेवन वेद, उपनिषत, सभ्यताय, इतिहास आदी विषयांचो अभ्यास केलो. ताणे वेदभाष्य, ब्राह्मीलिपी, हरप्पा – मोहेंजोदारो संस्कृती विषयांत गाढ अध्ययन करून संशोधनात्मक पुस्तक रचन केलां. “कोंकणी मत्तु मराठी इवुगळ तुलनात्मक विमर्शे, सारस्वत ब्राह्मणर प्राचीन इतिहास, ऋग्वेदद चारित्रीक अध्ययन, ब्राह्मी लिपी मत्तु सिंधू संस्कृती” – ताणे रचन केलेलें प्रमुख कृतियो. ताणे बरयिलें “सारस्वत ब्राह्मणर प्राचीन इतिहास” कोंकणी भाशेक भाशांतर जालां.
Basti Pundalika Shenoy was a writer, researcher, historian, freedom fighter and Gandhian born in 1921 in Bantwal near Mangalore. He has researched about origin of Saraswata Brahmins and comparetive study of Konkani and Marathi.
Career
After the primary education, he acquired command on Sanskrit and English language by selfstudy. He actively took part in freedom fight struggle and went to jail. He came into contact with Hindi speaking people in jail. There he learnt Hindi and passed government exam. Later he joined as a Hindi teacher in S.V.S. High School, Bantwal. At the same time he worked as librarian in same school. He took this oppotunity to learn and refer Ved, Upanishad, Culture, History etc. After the study of Ved Bhashya, Brahmi script, Harappa – Mohenjodaro culture, he wrote many research books. “Konkani Mattu Marathi Ivugala Tulanatmaka Vimarshe, Saraswata Brahmanara Prachina Itihasa, Rugvedada Charitrika Adhyayana, Brahmi Lipi Mattu Sindhu Samskruti” were his important books. His Saraswata Brahmanara Prachina Itihasa book is translated in to Konkani language.
