My congratulations to all the community leaders led by the Late Shri K.K Pai and Basti Vaman Shenoy for the yeoman service to the community. I am sure that the generation which would follow would have continued access to the centre so as to understand, follow and keep in touch with the Konkani Heritage. My good wishes to the Centre and everyone involved in their efforts.

Konkanis have lived on this Earth for too long, struggled, fought and survived onslaught to keep their own identity and language going for several countries. Konkani is bedrock on which we will see many icons of that identity survive.
This Centre will ensure that Konkani will flourish in all parts of the World. I salute the dedication of Basti Vaman Shenoy mam to make this happen. I am a very proud Konkani.

I am extremely happy to visit and see for myself the preservation of the culture and heritage of the Konkani speaking people. A society without roots, a community without culture and individuals without a language rooted in culture, will be souless and perish. As the Konkani speaking people get a modern education and become global citizens it is essential that they take steps to preserve and enhance their heritage, so that their children would be proud inheritors of the culture and knowledge of their forefathers. All of us are descendants of a long line of our ancestors who have enriched our heritage and it is our duty to add to it and pass it on.
I commend this vision and the Centre and call on all Konkani speaking people, from all over the world to contribute to this cause!.
