Vishwa Konkani Yuva Sambhram was organized at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore on November 14 by the World Konkani Centre (WKC).
In his presidential address R. V. Deshpande, Chairman Emeritus, Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation said that “Konkani people are learned, intelligent and value based. They have provided their services in diverse fields.”
Rt Rev Bernard Moras, Archbishop, Bangalore, Albert Tauro, CMD, Vijaya Bank, S.U. Kamath, Executive Director, Canara Bank, Ramdas Kamath U., President, Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund (VKSSF), Pradeep G. Pai, Secretary, VKSSF, Basti Vaman Shenoy, President, WKC and Venkatesh N.Baliga, Secretary, WKC, were present during the occasion.
Ten titles of Konkani English bilingual, Pictorial, Children Book series, Vishwa Konkani Bala Sahitya Mala was released at a Function held at World Konkani Centre on 7th November, 2010. Actor Children of Kundya Kurkul Children theatre, came upon the stage and released the ten titles. The first batch of these books have been sponsored by Ramdas Kamath U. senior vice president, Infosys Technologies, Bangalore.
The first batch contains Ten Titles namely : Neel Kolo (The Blue Jackal), Chatur Pooth ( The Clever Son), Bhakt Bhikari (The Devout Beggar), Teen Masalinchi Kani (A Tale of Three Fish), Cinderella, Kunkadale Upay (The Rooster’s Ploy), Badakache Kurup Peel (The Ugly Duckling), Budavanti Mhalgadi Pakshi (The Wise old Bird), Ekvateche Bal (There is strength in Numbers), Tenali Rama ani ahankari ray (Tenali Rama and the Proud King)
